Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Aylesbury, is currently seeking an experienced Tool Setter to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in injection moulding to take on a key role within a fast-paced and quality-driven environment.

Tool Setter Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set machines and ensure accurate first-off approval and last-off inspection
  • Report any tooling failures or issues promptly
  • Accurately complete all relevant documentation, including process change records to ensure full traceability
  • Safely mount and dismount injection mould tools
  • Ensure correct disposal of all waste generated from the moulding process
  • Maximise machine utilisation and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Carry out troubleshooting activities as required
  • Respond to machine red-light alerts in a timely manner
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of mould shop equipment and production of moulded components to required standards
  • Provide flexibility to support operator duties when required
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring tools, products, materials, and waste are correctly stored and organised
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and training requirements, and report any H&S concerns to the Shift Manager

Tool Setter Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced technical setter with strong knowledge of engineering polymers
  • In-depth understanding of the injection moulding process and associated moulding ancillaries
  • Recognised plastics industry qualification (equivalent to IMT Level 2 plus end-stage assessment)
  • Previous experience in a similar moulding environment (essential)
  • Experience working with machines such as Krauss Maffei, Arburg, Engel, Haitian, Zhafir, and Negri Bossi (desirable)
  • Experience using Efacs and Microsoft Office (desirable)
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies including 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean manufacturing (desirable)

Tool Setter Working Hours:

  • Monday to Wednesday 06:00 –16:00
  • Thursday 06:00 –15:30
  • 37.5 hours per week
