We at JKR are supporting our client focused within chemical manufacturing recruit for a Quality Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for defining, leading and embedding a consistent, value-adding Quality function. The role ensures compliant, capable and scalable product and process quality the Swindon facility, positioning Quality as a business differentiator that actively supports growth, customer confidence and operational excellence.

Quality Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and govern the Site QMS, including policies, procedures, document control, change management and compliance frameworks
  • Ensure proactive compliance to applicable standards and regulations (e.g. ISO
  • 9001, ISO 14001, AS9120 or equivalent as applicable)
  • Lead the internal audit programme, management review process and cross-site compliance oversight
  • Ensure CAPA systems are robust, effective and verified for long-term effectiveness
  • Drive “Right First Time” execution through prevention-focused quality design.
  • Ensure appropriate incoming, in-process and final product controls with full traceability
  • Deploy monitoring techniques and early detection of variation where appropriate
  • Own the customer quality management approach, including complaint handling, containment, root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions
  • Ensure timely, professional and data-driven customer responses using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D)
  • Reduce customer defect rates and position Quality as a key contributor to customer trust and differentiation
  • Support supplier qualification, performance monitoring and development in partnership with Purchasing
  • Implement supplier quality scorecards and improvement plans
  • Reduce supplier-related disruptions and quality risk to operations and customers
  • Deploy and embed best-practice Quality tools, for example
    • Prevention: FMEA, Control Plans
    • Monitoring: SPC
    • Process Audits
    • Problem Solving: 8D, Five Whys, Ishikawa, poka-yoke
    • Continuous Improvement: Six Sigma methodologies
  • Build Quality capability across sites through structured training and competency tracking

Quality Manager Ideal Candidate:

  • Understanding and experience working with ISO standards
  • Quality leadership experience within manufacturing and/or distribution environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory standards
  • Proven track record of operating in a prevention-focused, value-adding Quality function
  • Knowledge and evidence of deployment of Quality tools, statistical methods and structured problem solving
  • Ability to influence leaders and drive cross-functional change

Quality Manager Working Hours and benefits:

  • 38.7 Hours - Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00, Friday 08:00 – 12:45
