Process Engineer

We at Jackie Kerr Recruitment are excited to be supporting a leading manufacturing company in recruiting a Process Engineer!
Process Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of the production process and equipment
- Participate in the introduction of new parts including equipment, tools and procedures
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve yield or manufacturing efficiency and to instigate and lead continuous improvement activities
- Contribute to technical and gate reviews
- Assist or lead internal audits where required
- Respond to line stops, taking the required actions to restart production in a timely manner
- Update and maintain manufacturing documentation, including operator instructions, inspection standards etc
- Define new or replacement equipment requirements
- Commissioning and validation of new equipment
- Define and validate new material because of obsolescence, an improvement activity and new product
- Assist in 8D investigations for either external or internal nonconformity
Process Engineer Ideal Candidate:
- Strong interest in mechanical, electronics or production engineering
- Understanding of Lean principles and how to apply them
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
- Demonstrated organisational, planning and program skills with careful attention to detail
- Work well within a team
- Have a strong technical bias, with strong problem-solving abilities
- Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- A good level of competence with Microsoft Office applications
- Degree / HNC in an engineering discipline OR equivalent experience
- Experience or understanding manufacturing resistors, print / fire / deposition / plating (Desirable)
- CAD experience / knowledge (Desirable)
- Knowledge of Python (Desirable)
Working Hours and Benefits:
- Monday – Thursday: 08:00am – 16:30pm
- Friday: 08:00am – 13:00pm
- 25 days annual leave
