We at Jackie Kerr Recruitment are excited to be supporting a leading manufacturing company in recruiting a Process Engineer!

Process Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of the production process and equipment
  • Participate in the introduction of new parts including equipment, tools and procedures
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve yield or manufacturing efficiency and to instigate and lead continuous improvement activities
  • Contribute to technical and gate reviews
  • Assist or lead internal audits where required
  • Respond to line stops, taking the required actions to restart production in a timely manner
  • Update and maintain manufacturing documentation, including operator instructions, inspection standards etc
  • Define new or replacement equipment requirements
  • Commissioning and validation of new equipment
  • Define and validate new material because of obsolescence, an improvement activity and new product
  • Assist in 8D investigations for either external or internal nonconformity

Process Engineer Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong interest in mechanical, electronics or production engineering
  • Understanding of Lean principles and how to apply them
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and program skills with careful attention to detail
  • Work well within a team
  • Have a strong technical bias, with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • A good level of competence with Microsoft Office applications
  • Degree / HNC in an engineering discipline OR equivalent experience
  • Experience or understanding manufacturing resistors, print / fire / deposition / plating (Desirable)
  • CAD experience / knowledge (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Python (Desirable)

Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00am – 16:30pm
  • Friday: 08:00am – 13:00pm
  • 25 days annual leave
