Our client is recruiting for a great opportunity to work within a highly technical environment, working with customers across the world manufacturing unique products.
You will be working within the moulding department cleaning, fitting and providing maintenance to assembly manufacturing moulds.
Mould Maker Role and Responsibilities:
- The department comprises of two areas; one where job preparatory work and complete mould cover construction is undertaken and the other where preparation, service and repair of covers for use in production areas is carried out. Some basic maintenance of expanding mould cylinders is also undertaken
- Mould cover manufacture is carried out using a combination of automated and manual processes. The automated aspects at present include die cutting, annealing, embossing, laser cutting, fitting of electrotype and some of the welding operations
- Undertake transport of mould covers between manufacturing, preparation and storage areas
- Assemble the layers of mould cover produced on the press and/or automated equipment, by tack welding the layers together, bowl welding through all layers through to completion of the final seam and any other ancillary operations
- Train to operate the mould manufacturing equipment and carry out all the tasks associated with the duties required
- To assist with cleaning of mould covers and cylinders, providing repairs on the paper-machines as required
- Maintaining accurate records relating operations and manufacture mould covers to dimensional tolerances
- Compliance to all applicable safety rules must be always observed and any use of chemicals is undertaken as described in the Chemical Register (COSHH)
- An awareness of Lean manufacturing techniques as appropriate to the department
- To provide first line maintenance support including regular routine checks to ensure efficient operation including, but not exclusive to, oil levels, gas levels/availability of replacement cylinders, filter change/clean etc.
- Cleaning and maintenance of expanding cylinder moulds
- Start from design stage through to completion of the mould cover
- Range of duties including, embossing (manual and automated), milling, setting out, edging and seaming, bowl welding (manual and automated) and sewing
- Assembly of mould cover and providing mould repairs
The ideal Electrical & Process Control Technician will:
- Good basic education to include good passes in GCSE or equivalent
- Experience in the use of computers preferably including MS Excel
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative with minimum of supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both within the Department and with other Departments
- An understanding of the departmental targets and KPI’s
- Ability to maintain accurate records in both electronic and hard copy format as required of the position
- To have obtained the necessary level of competence in all above and to continue to learn other skills to meet business demands
- To may be required to undertaken courses covering overhead crane operation, mastermover, forklift etc).

- 06:00 – 14:00 Monday to Thursday, Friday 06:00 – 13:00
- 14:00 – 22:00 Monday to Thursday, Friday 13:00 – 20:00
- Starting salary will rise to £33,019 once competent within the role
