Maintenance Engineer

Salary Negotiable Depending on Experience

As a maintenance engineer, you'll be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery in industrial settings. Using computerised systems, you'll oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs. You'll also be involved with control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance.

Maintenance Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance work and equipment faults
  • Liaise with clients, customers and engineering and production colleagues
  • Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
  • Design maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs
  • Carry out quality inspections on jobs, and diagnose breakdown problems
  • Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
  • Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components
  • Improve health and safety policies and procedures
  • Working with specialist equipment, including, programming logic controllers
  • Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines
  • Continues cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns

The Ideal Maintenance Engineer Will:

  • Will have an HNC/C&G/NVQ3 in electrical and electronic engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or production engineering
  • Liaising with suppliers and people at all levels
  • Understand a range of engineering functions and procedures

Maintenance Engineer Working Hours + Benefits:

  • Bonus’
  • Over time paid at Double Time
  • Working hours full time 40-hour week 08:00 – 17:00
