Junior Buyer

Our client is a multi-award winning, independent organization within the clinical manufacturing sector. They are looking for an ambitious and detail orientated individual to take responsibility for their purchase and expediting of direct and indirect materials and consumable.
Junior Buyer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Update part details with stock levels, quoted costs and supplier part numbers
- Facilitated negotiations with suppliers over pricing
- Add, amend, and issue purchase orders on the MRP system
- Be responsible for sending purchase orders to suppliers alongside all other required documents
- Check order requirements against order confirmations
- Ensure timely deliveries, liaising with internal departments regarding product schedules, possible delays and technical queries
- Act as the primary point of contact for goods receiving and shipping issues
- Coordinate shipments with carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery
The ideal Junior Buyer will:
- Have an understanding of MRP systems
- Experienced in analysing, reviewing and placing purchase orders based on MRP demand
- Have manufacturing knowledge or experience within a manufacturing environment
- IT Literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office packages
- Be familiar with engineering drawings
- Have excellent communication skills, with a focus on customer service skills
- Have a high attention to detail as this is essential for this role
- Import/ Export customs knowledge is advantageous
Working Hours + Benefits:
- Monday – Thursday: 07:45 – 16:15
- Friday: 07:45 – 13:15
- 25 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays
- Company Pension
- Potential for Christmas closure days as a bonus
- Mainly office based with occasional hybrid working
