Our client, based in Bicester, is currently seeking an experienced Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to work within a precision engineering environment, supporting the maintenance, repair, and modification of high-quality injection mould tools.
Injection Mould Toolmaker Roles and Responsibilities:
- Methodically strip down and disassemble injection mould tools
- Assess tooling and components supplied by customers, identifying the most effective approach for repair or modification
- Reverse engineer and document various components of injection mould tools and other precision/mechanical engineering parts
- Liaise with the Toolroom Manager to plan and prioritise workload effectively
- Maximise machine utilisation and ensure equipment is used efficiently
- Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental policies are strictly adhered to at all times
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, ensuring a presentable appearance in line with customer and company expectations
Injection Mould Toolmaker Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified in mechanical engineering, completed a toolmaker apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of injection mould tools
- Competent in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and manual spark erosion machines)
- Ability to read and interpret both 2D engineering drawings and 3D models
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently, on time, and to a consistently high standard
- Experience with CNC machining and EDM processes (wire erosion, spark erosion, and hole drilling) – desirable
- Exposure to CAD and 3D modelling software (e.g. Visi, NCG Cam, Machining Strategist) – desirable
Injection Mould Toolmaker Working Hours and Benefits:
- Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 17:00
- Friday, 08:00 – 14:30
- Overtime is paid at 1.5 x hourly rate
