We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to join our client in Andover. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance and provided general site facilities repairs.

Facilities & Maintenance Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general site/factory repairs, upkeep and other jobs to maintain and improve the working area
  • Develop knowledge and expertise across a diverse range of equipment, from steam boiler heating systems to hydraulic presses
  • Carry out maintenance activities on machinery and electro-mechanical systems
  • Take ownership of problem-solving and root cause analysis to help identify faults and prevent recurring issues
  • Prioritise and manage workload effectively in line with operational requirements
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, following procedures and keeping work areas safe, clean and organised
  • Follow quality and administrative procedures accurately, with strong attention to detail
  • Visit both factory sites as required

Facilities & Maintenance Assistant Ideal Candidate:

  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and machinery maintenance
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practice within a machinery or maintenance environment
  • A clean, valid driving licence, as travel between the two factory sites will occasionally be required

Facilities & Maintenance Assistant Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety within a maintenance environment

Working Hours and Benefits:

  • £30,000 per annum
  • 23 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Company pension following successful completion of the 3-month probationary period
