Our client is well-established and leaders in their field, they are recruiting for a EHS Officer to work within the Production Engineering and Facilities Department as an Environmental Health and Safety Officer!

EHS Officer Role and Responsibilities:

Liaise and coordinate with, Production Engineering, Facilities Manager, Site Maintenance Engineer and various other Site Staff
Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and systems in line with UK legislation and industry best practices
Monitor and report on EH&S performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring timely and accurate management reporting
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections across the site to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and embedded
Coordinate EH&S training and awareness programmes for all staff, including induction and refresher sessions
Liaise with external bodies (e.g., HSE, environmental agencies) and ensure all regulatory reporting is completed accurately and on time
Support sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance, including waste management, emissions control, and energy efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and facilities to embed EH&S into daily operations
Attend educational programs and conferences to stay up to date on regulatory developments

The ideal EHS Officer will:

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5 years’ experience is desirable
Proven experience in an EH&S role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong knowledge of UK EH&S legislation and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in EH&S software and Microsoft Office suite preferably (Epicor ERP)

Working Hours + Benefits:

Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 14:00
