Electro-Mechanical Development Technician

Our client, a well-established and dynamic engineering and manufacturing company are looking to expand! They are currently looking for an Electro-Mechanical Development Technician to join them.

Electro-Mechanical Development Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build of complex high and low voltage electromechanical assemblies for prototypes and products in development to support delivery to internal and external customers
  • Installation of electrical and mechanical components such as contactors, relays, PCBAs, LV and HV wiring harnesses, fasteners, seals etc.
  • Work from basic drawings and instructions where some level of process development and hand modification may be required
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Process development for Tool and jig specification/selection, Implementation of in-process and end of line tests,  Preparation of production documentation including work instructions and establishing production cycle times
  • Carry out process reviews and develop process improvements

The ideal Electro-Mechanical Development Technician will:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly gained within an automotive, aerospace, marine or motorsport manufacturing environment
  • Have an understanding of mechanical and electrical component drawings
  • Experience of working in both production and prototype environments
  • Ability to build complex assemblies following assembly drawings and work instructions
  • A good understanding of manual assembly processes
  • Experience with drilling, tapping, filing and the use of hand tools
  • Experience of mechanical or electrical design tools (desirable)
  • Experience of Process Engineering (Desirable)
